There is no end to pathological geomorphology in Iran. While looking for a classic, but extreme water gap in the Zagros, I found this amazing array of alluvial fans color-coded to the lithology of their source watersheds. This relation is striking in many desert areas and often enhanced with a bit of image processing, but this area is particularly interesting to me. Go check this region out and you will be amazed.
