Sometime in the past couple of weeks, I recall dropping the comment, "Ares + Arenite = Arenology?" It's as good a title as any for this gorgeous image of linear dunes on eroded beds on Mars. Via Lee Allison at Arizona Geology, a special issue of Icarus contains 21 papers on Martian geomorphology. "The papers cover "Martian landforms shaped by winds, water, lava flow, seasonal icing and other forces."
