Lately I've been pondering the juxtaposition (or superposition) of distinctly human-made landscapes with nature's geomorphic forms and thought it might make a fun theme for October. There are plenty of places on Earth with little recognizable human influence and there are obviously lots of urban/suburban areas that have completely taken over the Earth's surface. But, then there are those places that fall between. Try to find examples that are interesting, thought-provoking, silly, or just plain pathological.
To kick it off, here's one of my favorites. This is the Green River in Utah in the town of Green River.
I like how the shape of the land use, including a golf course in the lower part of the image, is dictated by the abandoned meander bend.
