The
Aorounga crater has been dated to ~345 Ma and looks particularly cool due to it's exposure in the windswept region of Chad, Africa (is there anywhere in Chad that isn't?). Apparently there are other circular impact features nearby which has led some to believe they may be the result of a meteorite impact chain. Are these linear streaks of sand yardangs or simply eolian corridors flowing through knicks in the underlying bedrock? Check out the
zoomed out view for a snapshot of the curvilinear pattern!
